The Case of the Missing Will

Theme: Discovery. Answers are sometimes hidden in plain sight.

Text Evidence:Then he lighted the fire and held the plain inside surface of the envelope to the flame. In a few minutes faint characters began to appear.

Summary: an orphan Violet Marsh was left her uncle's will. Now she's trying to outwit a dead man. Using her book smarts against his common sense she hires a detective to play the game for her. Resulting in her coming out on top.

Characters: Captain Hastings, Hercule Poirot, Miss Violet Marsh, Uncle Andrew, and Mr. and Mrs.Baker

Conflict: Character v.s. Character-trying to find where the uncle had hidden the will.

Figurative Language: Metaphor-comparing the uncle's wits to niece's 

Point of View: First Person.

Text Evidence: "I am not a great admirer of the so-called New Woman myself, and, despite her good looks, I was not particulary prepossessed in her favor."
